The late 14-year-old Jumoke’s lifeless body was found on a road following a police offensive against protesters at the Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, during the Yoruba Nation awareness rally on Saturday.

Although police denied shooting any live bullet or any culpability in Jumoke’s death, eyewitnesses insisted that the deceased was hit by a stray bullet from the security operatives.
Despite warnings by the police, protesters trooped out to participate in the rally.
Human rights lawyers and activists have begun the process to file charges against the police on the murder.
